Khalid Aziz

Lawyer

I started my legal career at Ashbaugh Beal as an associate attorney in 2020.

Since then, I have worked closely with our Construction and Insurance groups, helping resolve disputes for contractors and policyholders.

In the construction world, I have represented contractors with both public and private disputes. My experience includes successfully bringing claims against a public owner for failing to carry out its contractual obligations in good faith, bringing claims against bonding companies, and resolving disputes between contractors through both arbitration and mediation. I have also helped represent contractors in bid protests and disputes with Washington’s Department of Labor & Industries.

In the insurance world, I have advanced our clients’ interests with respect to liability policies, as well as property and builders risk policies. I help identify and address instances where insurers engage in bad faith, such as conducting perpetual investigations, placing insurer interests ahead of their policyholder’s, and limiting coverage when the policy provides otherwise.

My approach to resolving conflicts involves client input and attention to detail. I prioritize solving my clients’ problems through effective communication and delivering a tailored work product while keeping costs to a minimum. When I am not working, I enjoy reading and riding my bike all throughout Seattle and the surrounding areas.
